I love how you've done this, especially the red barrel with the N on it, with all the diffrent colours mixed in.

One thing you could do it make some areas more defined, blend the shading a little more and make the top right corner (The huge highlight) not as distracting, I think it'd make the image flow better.

I wouldn't know, I've never tried to make chainmail, but I think it's safe to assume that the pain is roughly equal.
